me: |
If I had to use a word to describe me it'd have to be ...horsewoman. Two
words? Horsewoman, poker-nut (is that 3? lol). My passion, discovered
in my late 20's, is horses. I gave up a lucrative computer programming
career to delve into horses full-time and became a horseback riding instructor.
Now I am officially horse-poor, so I can't afford to pay for my poker
addiction! lol You can read more about me, my story on my web-site at
www.spreadingthejoy.com. In a nutshell: I'm single; no kids (unless you
count the one's with 4-legs and a tail, then I have 6: 4 horses, a dog
and a cat); was the only girl after 5 boys until an older sister my mother
had had to give up found us when I was 35. Then us girls had the boys
surrounded. HAH! I think having all those brothers and having gambled
with them at such a young age has helped me with the needed aggressiveness
to play No Limit!
Gambling was all around me growing up. My folks loved to gamble and most
of our family get-aways were to Lake Tahoe in the days when Harrah's had
the recreation center for parents to park their kids at while they gambled.
That's where I developed my love of pinball machines! Christmas Eve we
had a traditional craps game. Later when I was a teenager, my family,
friends, etc and I would play a lot of crazy poker, the regular Friday
night $10 buy-in, play on welfare, everything-is-wild games

Experience: |
It wasn't until I discovered the internet in 1996 and AOL Poker (before
they started charging, grr!!) that I really became an addict. Through the
years, I've played many sites. All funny money, tho. It wasn't until about
January, 2004 that I had the desire to get serious about playing poker.
But, with so much time playing crazy poker, funny money tables and more
recently all the freerolls, I have to work had to break the lousy foundation
my poker game was built on. Lots of bad habits to break! LOL My goal is
to win a local B & M tourney as well as large on-line tourney. As a
throw back to my crazy-poker days, I'd love to see a No Limit Hold'em Follow-the-Queen
tourney. That would be such a hoot! lol |

Wins: |
My favorite has to
be the 6th place I took in my 2nd B&M tourney. I had only played live
poker once in Vegas before these 2 tourneys. It was a $20+5 with $20 rebuy
tourney with a field of 82, I think. Anyhow, it was pretty exciting. Unfortunately,
I haven't been able to afford to play much since (only another 2 times where
I made it to the 2nd to last table both times.
On-line, most recently, my fav wins I got just this week ... I won $ in
3 freerolls: 8th for $6.90, RoundTable $150 rebuy Freeroll, 349 ppl; 6th
for $13.75, PokerWorld $250 rebuy Freeroll, 321 ppl; and 5 and 6th for $2+points
each, PokerWorld New Player Freerolls. All in 4 days. Woohoo! Been a good
week. |
